Guides

Senegal with children, at their pace.

Fewer base changes, suitable outings and days that stay flexible.

One activity can be enough

Choose one main outing and keep the rest flexible. For a reserve, ask about vehicle arrangements, actual duration and breaks. For an island, confirm crossing arrangements and equipment appropriate to the children’s ages. An activity described as “family-friendly” guarantees neither accessibility, supervision nor equipment: check these directly with the provider.

Plan everyday needs as well as visits

Identify meals, toilets and a resting place before a long outing. Keep something for waiting through transfers and spare clothes within reach. Our advice: avoid changing bases daily. A stable rhythm makes small surprises easier to absorb and gives children time to build their own familiar landmarks.

Make discovery meaningful

On Gorée, adapt the visit and explanations to the children’s ages and questions. In nature, suggest observing and drawing rather than promising a particular animal. Afterwards, ask each child what they would like to return to the next day. For health needs, seek advice before travel and prepare your assistance arrangements; this guide remains a tourism planning resource.
